Is this Australia’s newest sporting ‘It couple’? Fans sure think so after Jamie Chapman and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow went Instagram official.

The NRLW star and Queensland State of Origin player went public with their relationship, sharing a candid selfie on social media in December 2024.

NRLW stars Lauren Brown, Jess Sergis, Tarryn Aiken, Mahalia Murphy, Kennedy Cherrington and Teagan Berry all commented messages of support, as sports fans claimed they were Rugby League’s newest power couple.

“Move over Nathan & Mary,” one fan joked, as another declared “history had been made.”

Jaime, 22, currently plays as a centre for the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL Women’s Premiership. She also plays for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the QRL Women’s Premiership and has played for NSW in the State of Origin.

Hamiso, 23, nicknamed ‘Hammer,’ plays as a fullback for the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL. He also plays for Queensland in the State of Origin series, as well as Samoa and Australia at an international level.

Jaime and Hamiso aren’t the only rugby league power couple, though. They now join four-time NRLW premiership winner Millie Boyle and Newcastle Knights forward Adam Elliott who tied the knot in 2023, and Roosters star Jess Sergis who is dating Manly’s Tommy Talau.

Penrith Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary’s relationship status has dominated headlines recently after the 27-year-old went public with his relationship with Matildas’ star Mary Fowler.

“People look at us and think we’re talking about our sport all the time but sometimes it’s just nice to sit there as two human beings and enjoy other’s company and talk about something other than sport,” he recently admitted on ex-NRL player Keegan Hipgrave’s podcast.

“When we’re together we just enjoy each other’s company but it’s that support and trust that if something is going wrong we can talk to each other about it and bounce ideas off each other. It’s been really nice.”
