Following the highly anticipated conclusion of the Shelby family saga in April 2022, many fans of the franchise have been eager to see the story continue, with many calling for a seventh season or expansion of the Peaky Blinders universe.
Fortunately, it appears not one, but two Peaky Blinders spin-offs will soon be hitting our screens!
Following over a year of fan speculation, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has offered some rare insight into the upcoming projects, revealing that they may be debuting on our screens sooner than we think.

Will there be a Peaky Blinders spin-off?
Based on recent interviews with creator Steven Knight, it appears that Peaky Blinders will be returning for both a spin-off movie and a potential spin-off series.
Speaking to Radio Times in December 2023, Knight provided an update on the new Peaky Blinders film, telling the publication, “I’m just working on the final bits of it at the moment. ”
Although the details of the plot have not yet been revealed, it is believed that the new spin-off will take place in Boston in the mid-20th century and in August 2024, it was announced that Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson would also be joining the cast.
While the details surrounding their involvement have been kept under wraps, Netflix announced that production had commenced on the film in September 2024.
Will Cillian Murphy be in the Peaky Blinders movie?
For fans of the original series’ protagonist, we have good news! Cillian Murphy has been confirmed to be reprising his role as Thomas Shelby in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.
Speaking to Birmingham World in March 2024, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight revealed that Murphy “definitely is returning” for the highly-anticipated feature film.
With the buzz surrounding the announcement still at a high, Netflix shared the first glimpse of Murphy on set in September 2024, with the streaming giant confirming that filming has since commenced in the Digbeth area of central Birmingham, England.
News of Murphy’s return to the franchise came just over three months after he initially revealed that he would be open to reprising his role as the ringleader of Shelby Company Ltd.
“I’m totally open to the idea, but I also do think that it was a kind of perfect six seasons… It’s sometimes hard to move into the film format, and I do like the ambiguity of the ending, but I’m always open to a great script. Who wouldn’t be?” he told Variety.
Will there be a new Peaky Blinders Show?
While there is not a great deal of information on the upcoming spin-off series, according to Bloomberg, the new Peaky Blinders series will reportedly explore the world of Shelby family matriarch Polly Gray.
Following the passing of actor Helen McCrory ahead of the final season, the news of a Peaky Blinders series dedicated to Polly is bittersweet to many fans who sadly mourned her absence during the final instalment of the fan-favourite series.
Given the new spin-off film is set after the events of the original series, fans have speculated that the upcoming spin-off series will be a prequel to the Shelby family storyline and will focus on Polly’s youth.
