What is the plot of Squid Game Season 3?
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
While the exact storyline for Season 3 has yet to be confirmed, we *do* know that a new motion-activated doll named Chul-su will be joining the playground alongside Young-hee for what appears to be a Jack and Jill-style twist on the Red Light, Green Light challenge.
Although the first teaser didn’t share much more information, the finale of Season 2 ended with Young-il, also known as the Front Man, returning to the dark side and betraying his fellow competitors. Did we see it coming? Of course, but his brutal confrontation with Gi-hun and Jung-bae was still incredibly emotional.
The final episode also marked the beginning of the participants rebelling against the masked soldiers of the game, with Hyun-ju and Dae-ho risking their lives to retrieve vital ammunition.
Away from the arena, the end of Season 2 also left several questions surrounding the former police chief (and the Front Man’s brother) Jun-ho’s efforts to discover the island and take down the game from the outside.

In good news for fans, Seasons 2 and 3 of Squid Game were filmed back-to-back, which means that post-production is already underway for the next instalment, with Netflix confirming that Squid Game Season 3 will be released in 2025.
Speaking on the Season 2 finale, director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that the next instalment would be the last, telling ScreenRant, “When I was thinking about the idea for the ending of season three, I think it sort of naturally came to me that this was the finale.”
