What will season two of We Were Liars be about?
While details are being kept tightly under wraps, fans can likely brace themselves for even more twists, secrets, and heart-stopping drama.
With season one leaving a lot of cliffhangers, season two will probably pick up the pieces of the Sinclair family’s tangled web.
Even though there may not be a sequel to E. Lockhart’s best-selling novel, the showrunners seem ready to expand the story, giving viewers a deeper dive into the dark, mysterious world of Beechwood Island and the Liars themselves.

Author E.Lockhart has teased that fans are in for “a lot of surprises.”
“MacKenzie and Plec have big, big plans for season two, including everything readers of my books are dying to see onscreen — and a lot of surprises as well.”
The author also teased that season 2 could delve into the events of her 2022 book, Family of Liars, which follows the story of the older Sinclair sisters.
“That final scene with Carrie and Johnny is very close to the opening of my second book in the We Were Liars universe,” she told the outlet. “Really, it’s a tip forward into season 2 — should we get a season 2 — but it’s also a tip forward to the book that comes after We Were Liars. We all hope for a season 2, and I know the showrunners have all kinds of plans.”
Speaking to Deadline, she added: “If you watch We Were Liars all the way til the end and you watch the little coda, you can see that that coda tips to the start of Family of Liars. We have not forgotten about what’s going on with Johnny and Carrie.”
