EXCLUSIVE: Why The Block’s Lisa is mentally preparing to go into labour alone

The couple told WHO they're desperately hoping their second little one won't come early.

Lisa and Rosco have been pretty unshakable on The Block this year. Their biggest challenge has been missing their son, Lando, with both having low points while desperately missing him.

But despite facing homesickness (and morning sickness) during their renovations, their lasting power has been impressive.

They’ve won multiple CommBank budget challenges and have stayed level headed throughout despite not having experience or qualifications in the construction industry.

However, the couple revealed to WHO that (despite very much being a team), they face the prospect of being apart when Lisa goes into labour with their second child, and it’s understandably causing mixed emotions.

Why Lisa and Rosco might not be together when their second baby is born

As a logistics expert in the oil and gas industry, Rosco is a FIFO worker who will be offshore until two days before Lisa’s due date, which is next week.

The problem is, Lisa’s midwife told the couple their baby is looking like he’s ready to come early.

“I’m due next Friday… They’re thinking he is very much looking like he’s sort of engaged and ready and low. So, yeah, who knows? It could be any day, and it could be without Ross because he’s obviously at work,” Lisa said.

“If it happens overnight, he doesn’t have the means to get off the island. They only fly at night if it’s life or limb. So, yeah, we’re very aware that it might be something that he may not be there for, but hopefully that’s not the case.”

Life or limb? Isn’t this the literal definition of life? Get that man a plane, pronto.

However, Lisa is remaining upbeat, saying she’s just hoping for a healthy labour. She’s happily surrounded by her loved ones in the meantime, too — with Lando not leaving her side.

“Either way, we’ve got a village around us, so we’re very lucky and supported,” she said.
