Love them or hate them, Courtney and Sev are smashing it on The Block this season. The team has won the most room-reveal challenges and has consistently impressed the judges with their construction and design prowess.

The latest challenge was no different, with the women getting an almost perfect score of 39.5 for their guest suite reveal.

However, Courtney revealed to WHO that she was struggling mentally at this point in the competition, so much so that she was having sleepless nights.

She admitted she was worried the show and how things were playing out would impact her career.

What was keeping Courtney awake at night?

The team purposefully decided to spend big in the first couple of weeks in a bid to secure the house they wanted to renovate throughout the season and to nab the high-end kitchen and laundry appliance package.

They secured both, but have since been on a mission to cut costs and firmly stick to budget out of fear they would later run out of money.

It was this reason that kept Courtney awake at night, worried how that detail would play out on screen and whether it would impact her work prospects after the show wrapped.

It’s why this recent win meant so much to her.

“We obviously had a little bit of a lull there, and with all the budget chat, it was starting to run its course on us mentally too.

“We weren’t sleeping from a design front. I was starting to worry about my career.

“So to be able to come back and do so well, and really think out of the box with our sort of kitchenette integration and the self-contained suite, was a really good move,” she said.

The team has now secured three room-reveal wins and told WHO they decided to just hang on for dear life as the renovations continued.

“We executed the room, and we did a damn good job, even with all the [budget] challenges,” Courtney said. “That was a really proud moment for both of us.”
