If you’ve been watching The Block this season, you could be forgiven for thinking Courtney and Rosco don’t really like each other.
The pair have had their fair share of clashes since renovating began in their neighbouring houses, including a particularly tense falling-out over a deal involving waterproofers. Courtney was left feeling “snaked” by Rosco after she believed he’d gone back on his word, and let’s just say things between the neighbours weren’t exactly warm and fuzzy after that.
So it might come as a surprise to learn that, away from the competition, the pair have actually formed a pretty close friendship.
Yep, those two.
We caught a glimpse of that softer side on Monday night’s episode, and Rosco’s wife and teammate Lisa confirmed it to WHO.
Courtney and Rosco are more alike than you’d think
In fact, their similarities might be exactly why they’ve clashed so spectacularly.
Both are strong personalities, both are competitive and neither is particularly shy about saying exactly what they think.
Which, admittedly, is probably not the easiest combination when you’re living next door to each other, renovating under insane pressure and competing for the same prize.
But according to Lisa, it’s also what has ultimately brought them closer.
Lisa revealed that Courtney and Rosco have developed something of a sibling relationship throughout the competition.
“They end up having sort of a brother-sister relationship,” Lisa told WHO. “Courtney and Ross are like the male-female version of each other. They clash so bad at the start because they’re so similar.”
And suddenly, those fiery neighbour feuds make a little more sense.
It doesn’t sound like Courtney and Rosco are constantly at odds because they genuinely dislike each other. If anything, they’re just a little too alike — and anyone with a sibling will know that can be a dangerous combination. Underneath the competition, the arguments and the occasional neighbourly drama, there’s clearly plenty of affection there too.
So while viewers might still get the occasional Courtney and Rosco clash, it sounds like there’s a much softer friendship happening behind the scenes. And honestly, after everything we’ve watched these two put each other through, we’re kind of obsessed with the fact they’re actually mates.
