Waleed Aly and Carrie Bickmore have outraged fans after their comments on Monday night’s episode of The Project.
Discussing a Perth job advertisement, Aly called administration assistants “bogans”, with Bickmore agreeing.
The job ad posted on Gumtree read: ‘Must have good references. Drug free, also child and pet friendly. No bogans or rough people need apply.”
“If you’re not taking bogans, where are you going to find good admin people?’ Aly asked. “Where are they going to get them from?”
Bickmore responded, “good point”.

Viewers took to Twitter to slam the hosts’ comments.
“Rude, Waleed @theprojecttv. I’ve two degrees, including one in Latin and Ancient Greek & all I’m looking for is an admin position. #nobogan,” one viewer wrote.
Another said: “Ummm did Waleed just say that? I work in admin and I am the antithesis of a bogan. Get off your high horse.”
#theprojecttv just another offended admin worker wondering where all the respectful talking heads have gone #rude

#theprojecttv lost a bit of respect for Waleed tonight. Thanks for referring to me as bogan. I hope you understand a lot of organisations
