The Voice has been a big hit this year, with a major twist keeping the format fresh and exciting. While many fans complained about the introduction of the fifth coach, Tones & I, the show has consistently drawn high ratings and continued to cement itself as the country’s most beloved singing competition.
Now, the 2026 winner is crowned, and coach Melanie C is absolutely cheering because it was her very own Yung Milla who won and nabbed the highly sought-after $100,000 cash prize, plus an all-inclusive recording and development package.
They beat Daisha Auda, Tommy Novak, and boy band The 60Four to get the top spot, and he was overcome with emotion when his victory was announced on Sunday night.
“I couldn’t be more proud. I’m doing this for my people,” he said, jumping up and down on the stage as the confetti fell.
He also thanked Melanie C, saying she’s made him a better person and performer. She was equally complimentary, saying she’s “met a friend for life” in him.
How does The Voice winner plan on spending the $100,000 prize?
Not only does Yung Milla get national recognition, and join the exclusive club of The Voice Australia winners, but he’s also $100,000 richer.
WHO asked how him he plans to spend his cash winnings, and they had a very simple answer.
“[I’ll] spend it on my family and my professional development,” he said.
Priorities are in check, it seems!
For his final performance, Yung Milla joined forces with Melanie C and sang one of her songs Never Be The Same Again.
However, he put his own twist on it, creating his own rap and intertwining it into the song as Melanie C sang the well-known first verse and chorus.
