Hollywood’s most magnetic star Timothée Chalamet is showing a new side of himself.
In a candid new interview with Vogue, the 29-year-old actor has spoken openly about his hopes to become a father, just don’t ask him about his high-profile relationship with Kylie Jenner.
As part of promotion for his upcoming film, Marty Supreme, Timothée appears on the cover in an editorial shot by Annie Leibovitz and almost immediately shut down any kind of inquiry into his personal life with Kylie. “And I don’t say that with any fear, I just don’t have anything to say,” he said simply.

Instead, he did speak quite openly about having fatherhood, family and marriage on his mind lately. As he and his peers move into a new season of life, such thoughts seem to be inevitable. “Zendaya is engaged. Anya is married,” he noted of his Dune co-stars. When asked about having children of his own he replied: “That could be on the radar”.
He recalled watching a celebrity interview with a friend, where the childfree celebrity was “bragging about not having kids and how much time it afforded them to do other stuff.” In reaction, he and his friend looked at each other and were “like, holy shit. Oh my God. Bleak.”
Timothée told Vogue he believes “procreation is the reason we’re here”.
Timothée opens up about marriage role models
For Timothée, success doesn’t need to come at the expense of a family life. “I had a friend of mine in school—a girl named Grace—and her parents had the most beautiful, amazing marriage,” he told the magazine. “It showed me excellence can exist without it being arduous.”
Observing other men in his orbit who balance professional ambition and family life, he called out his director Denis Villeneuve. “You don’t have to be selfish to be great,” he explained.
“And I know, because I’ve worked with directors who are incredible and who are incredibly present in their family life. Even Denis, who I’m working with right now. I’m just amazed by him. It was his birthday two days ago, and one of his kids flew themselves out as a surprise, and he’s hugging him, and he’s weeping on set, and people are taking videos. Denis is a total master of his craft, and he’s a great family man.”
How long have Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner been dating?
Timothée and Kylie have been linked publicly since 2023, first being spotted together in the spring of that year and making their red-carpet debut in Rome in May 2025.
Jenner, 28, shares 7-year-old Stormi and 3-year-old Aire with her former partner Travis Scott. She’s allegedly open to having more children with Timothée. “Kylie thinks Timothée is so great with her kids, and she has told her closest friends that she would love to have another baby with him some day,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight.
They added: “[she is] so in love with Timothée. She loves learning about his world and supporting him whenever she can.”
