Australian singer Tones and I, real name Toni Watson, has been in the spotlight a lot this week after her surprise coaching role on The Voice Australia was revealed on Sunday, August 2.
The notoriously private star has been the subject of months of speculation about whether she and her husband Jimmy Bedford had split.
On Thursday, August 7, Bedford took to Instagram with a post announcing that he’s going to be a father with his new partner, confirming his split from The Voice coach.
Jimmy Bedford confirms new relationship
In June 2026, Bedford seemingly hard-launched his new relationship on Instagram, posting photos of the pair posing together and captioning the post: “My Joys.”
However, his most recent post solidified their relationship status as Bedford announced that he is expecting a baby in 2027, tagging his partner again.
Both Tones and I and Bedford are yet to publicly confirm the reason for their split, with the singer known for keeping her personal life private.
“She truly believed she’d married her forever person, and she isn’t going to speak publicly about her personal life or reveal any private details,” an insider told Woman’s Day.
When did speculation about Tones and I and Jimmy Bedford’s split start?
This news comes after fans of Tones and I found clues that she may have split from her husband Jimmy Bedford, a former bricklayer and Frankston Bombers player, in early 2026.
The rumours kicked off when the 32-year-old ‘Dance Monkey’ singer deleted a post from her second wedding anniversary in March last year, as well as a number of wedding photos.
Adding even more fuel to the fire? They’ve both unfollowed the other as well.
The pair would have marked their third wedding anniversary on March 20 this year, but the day passed without a post celebrating the occasion – unlike last year, when Toni shared a photo of herself and Jimmy on their wedding day, captioning it, “2 years married to the GOAT.”
When did Tones and I get married?
The pair wed in a small private ceremony in Bali three years ago. At the time, the singer shared pictures from the wedding and wrote, “Well, we weren’t planning on spreading the news until after the single dropped, but I MARRIED my best friend.”
The pictures are no longer on her Instagram, with the only post that has stayed up being a montage of the party, with the caption, “Can’t take the Frankston out of the people.”
You can, however, still see some of the photos on Facebook, including the wedding and many other moments between the couple.
In 2021, Toni told The Kyle and Jackie O Show that Jimmy was the “perfect person for me”.
“He was a bricklayer, and now he’s my stage tech,” she explained. “In the last year and a half, he’s gone to university, studied, got his bachelor (degree),” she said.
“He comes on tour with me as my stage tech. He lives with us. He plays footy for Frankston Bombers. He’s my best friend. He’s hilarious.”
