The original Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, has revealed the man of her dreams she chose on the hit reality show, Ryan Sutter, still has the rose she gave him during the final rose ceremony in 2003.
“He does [have it],” Trista, 44, told Good Morning America in a new interview. “In the closet upstairs.”
Trista, who first appeared on TV screens in season 1 of The Bachelor in the U.S., went on to star in season 1 of The Bachelorette, where she met and fell in love with sexy firefighter Ryan, 42.
The couple, who have two children – son Maxwell, 9, and daughter, Blakesley, 7, celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in 2013, and now live in Vail, Colorado.
“It’s an awesome place to raise kids,” Ryan told GMA.
The dad-of-two still works as a firefighter, while Trista is now a successful author.
Revealing how they keep their love alive, Trista admitted Ryan goes out of his way to make her feel special. “He wrote me a sweet card, you know, just out of the blue.”
And their secret to a happy and successful marriage? “I think forgiveness is a big one,” Trista added, “because no one’s perfect and neither of us are perfect.”
