‘Wentworth’ has reportedly been axed

Fans of Wentworth have been left reeling after rumours the show will end after Season 7.

Although the news has not been confirmed by Foxtel, many took to Twitter to share their disappointment at the rumours. 

An account dedicated to the Logie Award winning drama claimed that a senior production source had notified them of the news.

Well placed entertainment journalists were also buzzing that Foxtel had decided to axe the show.

Foxtel issued the following statement: “Discussions between Foxtel and Fremantle Media regarding future seasons of Wentworth continue. Season 7 of the series will conclude production in Melbourne on Friday July 27.”

Just two weeks ago, Wentworth won big at the 60th Annual Logie Awards.
