The White Lotus season two has truly had a chokehold on the internet. We mean, what’s not to love? Italy, aspirational fashion, the lifestyles of the rich, and a murder-mystery. It’s a tasty cocktail, indeed.
This time around, the seven-episode instalment began with a dead body floating in the sea outside the Italian hotel. You can catch up on the entire season now on BINGE.
As the season progressed, each character developed would-be motives. Now, fans are desperate to know who died and who killed.

Who dies at the end of The White Lotus season two?
It turns out Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) was right – “the gays” were trying to kill her to commit life insurance fraud – and her husband was in on it!
In the final episode, she was taken out on the water by her glamorous-yet-mysterious new friends, but became immediately suspicious when they docked the yacht miles out from the shore and told her that so-called gay drug dealer Niccoló (Stefano Gianino) would be personally escorting her back to the main land.
She then made a grab for a suspicious black bag he had packed for the journey and locked herself in a bedroom to peruse the contents. And surprise, surprise, it contained nothing more than a gun, rope and duct tape; classic murder stuff.
In a moment of heroism, she shot and killed Quentin (Tom Hollander) and his friends, demanding that the former reveal whether her husband Greg (Jonathan Gries) was cheating on her.
Then, in a moment of stupidity, she attempted to jump from the vessel and into a smaller boat to flee. In the frenzy of her grand exit, she missed the dinghy and hit her head on the railing – causing her to drown.
So yes, sadly it was Tanya whose body was in the water in the first episode.
The accident presumably enabled her husband Greg’s money scam to work after all.
Ahead of the final episode, there were many compelling fan theories surrounding the show. Here were some of our faves…
Greg dies
Think about it – Tanya’s husband Greg has been terrible all season. Plus, he might be teaming up with Quentin (more on that below). His background is murky – maybe he’s been tricking his wife all along? Perhaps Tanya puts an end to it once and for all.
Tanya dies
Think of the foreshadowing people!! A fortune teller literally said Tanya would go mad and die? Plus, remember the heroine in the opera who killed herself?? It’s all adding up.
Cameron dies
As much as we’d hate to see Theo James kick the bucket, this one is a compelling theory. Fans are speculating that Daphne (Meghann Fahy) kills Cameron after learning that he owes Lucia money.
Quentin dies
Remember when Quentin spoke about ~that~ old cowboy photo? He confessed he was “head over heels” for the boy in the photo, but he was “heterosexual and completely uninterested”. Well, some fans think said cowboy is actually Greg who has been working with Quentin and his friends. The theory is that Tanya will realise she’s being scammed and “kill all the gays” in “self-defence”.
Everyone dies
Everyone is literally so messy, maybe HBO will kill them all and hire a brand new cast for season three.
