It was just a matter of months before newlyweds Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich found themselves in the midst of divorce rumours.

Not long after their 2018 wedding, tongues began wagging when former chiropractor Tim moved to Melbourne to join the cast of Neighbours, leaving his wife in Sydney, and attending events without his wedding ring. But now, speaking to WHO, the couple, who are ambassadors for Piper-Heidsieck, have finally revealed the truth behind the rumours.
“About a month and a half after we got married Tim lost his ring,” Heinrich says. Robards laughs, adding: “My brother lost it, actually! And now I have to wear another ring when I’m at work every day, so I just kind of have it for special occasions. I didn’t want to wear it because people were saying, ‘He’s wearing it one day and then not wearing it the next’.”
The couple, who jokingly bragged they received a 98 per cent result on the Piper-Heidsieck Australian Open perfect match compatibility test – are in fact planning to start a family soon. “I’m 33 and we always wanted to have a family,” Heinrich says. “It’s always hard with timing, but I think it’s hard for everyone. It’s not just us.”
Robards, 37, began his role as Pierce Greyson on Neighbours in 2018 and says his time on the show will ultimately dictate when they have children.
“When we have kids we definitely want to be in the same state,” he says. “So, we’ll
just see how the start of this year pans out and go from there.
Despite working in different states, the couple try to spend weekends together and work hard to keep their relationship on track despite the distance.
“It’s not really that different to a couple who are working busy jobs,” Robards reasons.
“We do miss out on having dinner together, but then a lot of people don’t even have dinner together during the week. These days, by the time people get home late, go
to the gym, or they’ve got kids, whatever. We chat five times a day on FaceTime.”
Heinrich, who juggles her career as a lawyer with her various media commitments, admits that sometimes it’s nice to miss her husband.
“It works both ways,” she says. “Not that I’m happy when Tim’s not there, but I actually really enjoy my own time. I like being able to have dinner whenever I want. Tim normally likes dinner at about nine o’clock. I like dinner early.”
Robards says he’s “loving” his time on Neighbours and hopes to continue acting once his contract is over.
Heinrich, who appeared on Ten’s pilot week hit Trial By Kyle, is no stranger to TV herself, given the couple met seven years ago this year on the first season of The Bachelor Australia and went on to appear on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! together.
So it will come as no surprise that the attractive pair are hoping to be back on the small screen together again.
“There’s been some things thrown around over time and I’m open to anything,” Robards says. “It would be fun to do something together. I think the reality TV side of things is pretty done but you never know.”
Luckily for us, Heinrich is quick to add: “Never say never!”
