“Maybe because I have had a lot of experience in the dating world and that was sort of advertised to Australia,” Hockley tells WHO about the concept behind their podcast.
“And Laura and I were having this chat one day and it just grew by talking about the toxic relationships we’d been in,” she continued.
As a result, the podcast, which hit number one on the Apple charts in Australia, covers everything from reality TV to dating.
Still hopeful of a future love, a happily single Hockley speaks to WHO with conviction, and when asked about her relationship with her former flame, she’s clearly moved on from the highly publicised experience.
“I’ve only run into him once at an event. We both just moved on but he really wanted to distance himself from the franchise … It just wasn’t his cup of tea, but I hear he’s doing well,” she said.
“I mean, in the end I did nothing wrong. I don’t think it was handled well, but if he didn’t want to pick anyone, it’s not like he killed someone. I think he got a really hard time from the media.”
Another bachelor she appears to have her eyes on though is this season’s Matthew Agnew, who she describes as a “hot nerd”.
While she says she’s been told by fans she should be an intruder on this season, she reveals her crush is real.
“I think he’s really great. It’s nice to have somebody that’s quiet, intelligent, he’s very witty and he’s quick off the mark. I like that ... I think Matt has a bit of everything. He looks like he’s got the body, which I believe he didn’t have but he worked for it.”
Although she’s missed this opportunity, the 31-year-old is not completely ready to hang up her reality TV heels, admitting “I would actually go on The Bachelorette. People asked me that last year straight after Bachelor – it was too soon, but now I’ve been thinking about it for the last year. I think it would be pretty cool, being in the driver’s seat and actually being able to decide to meet all these amazing people.”
And just in case she doesn’t head back into a dating show, Hockley tells WHO she’s been working on her acting and would not turn down an opportunity to work on-screen full-time. “I’ve studied acting at a few different schools, it’s always been a hobby – a passion. I’m doing everything I love now in my life … So look out Home and Away!”
It’s no secret The Bachelor’s Matt Agnew is not shy when it comes to locking lips. And Hockley says he may have even out-done Nick Cummins. “I feel like he just makes out with everyone and I think he’s the first bachelor that we’ve ever seen that with ... Even Nick was going on dates and not kissing everyone. He‘d get to know them. Little Matty boy is a bit frisky.”
