WHO caught up with Blake Lively’s dream team: hairstylist Rod Ortega and makeup artist Kristofer Buckle.
Can you explain Blake’s look, Rod?
Because it was New York Fashion Week, we wanted something polished, so we went for smooth and sleek. Her hair looks so soft, too.
What are your secrets?
Try rosewater spray. I spritzed it on her wet hair from roots to ends to condition it and add volume, then blew it out in large sections using a 1.5-inch round brush.
How did you create the subtle curl?
I used a 1.5-inch barrel curling iron from mid-shaft to 2 inches [5cm] before her ends, for a beautiful bend.
How does one get that Blake Lively glow?
I used highlighter on the high points of her cheekbones and down her nose. Then I added a touch of blush across her cheeks to create a wash of colour. And on her lips? I tapped a mauvey pink lipstick on her lips to liven them up—her last name is Lively!
