It wasn’t just the retro-tinged fashions capturing the front row’s attention at the David Jones spring/summer showcase in Sydney on August 3, but rather the new blonde locks sported by store ambassador Jessica Gomes.
“I’ve always wanted to go blonde, I’m having so much fun with it,” the 30-year-old told The Daily Telegraph. The look is to be short lived though, with Gomes revealing her lighter locks were not the result of hitting the bleach bottle, but rather created by the backstage hair and makeup team who added beachy blonde extensions to her trademark brunette locks.
Gomes was joined on the runway by fellow models including Motana Cox, Jesinta Campbell and Gemma Ward, who is 15-weeks pregnant with her second child.
“It’s amazing because some of the looks from regular brands go right over the bump and even at the end of this pregnancy I’ll be able to wear them,” Ward said of the season’s looser-fitting looks and billowy silhouettes.
