Her belly is swelling, she is carrying more fluid, there’s even more blood pumping through her veins.

Of course, her skin is stretching too.

It has to. That’s just all there is to it.

When skin stretches though, especially if the process happens quickly, it can develop lines known as stretch marks.

These pinkish, purplish lines affect roughly 80 per cent of all pregnant women so if you have them you are definitely not alone.

But according to an insider, Meghan is determined to avoid stretch marks if she possibly can.

The insider, said to be a palace staffer, revealed that Meghan is relying on a popular supermarket skincare oil to lessen her chances of developing any marks.

“Meghan’s pregnancy standby is Bio Oil which is non greasy and does the job effortlessly without messing up her clothes or five-star sheets,” the unnamed source told Fabulous Online.

Meghan’s choice is a savvy one.

For one thing the oil is inexpensive, selling for just $15 for a 60ml bottle at Priceline, and it has a solid reputation for improving the appearance of scars, stretch marks and even improving skin tone.

Its creators say its power is due to the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil, which acts as an advanced delivery system for Bio-Oil’s other ingredients, ensuring they are absorbed into the skin where they are most needed.

In addition to PurCellin Oil, Bio-Oil also contains vitamin A, vitamin E, calendula oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil, and chamomile oil – all of which are known to smooth and soften skin leaving it deeply hydrated and healthy.

Meghan is known for her love of all things natural, which makes Bio-Oil an obvious choice.

And while we’re not sure who put her onto it perhaps it was mama of three the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton who is sure to have heard of it too. You see, the product is something of a cult favourite of mamas-to-be worldwide, with many claiming to have achieved stunning results after just weeks of using it.

Hopefully Meghan will have a similar experience.

But even if she doesn’t, we’re sure she’ll see any marks as a source of pride once her precious baby enters the world.

After all, a stretch mark is really just a badge of honour – a sign of motherhood and one that should be celebrated if at all possible.
