I, for one, suffer from incredibly dry skin in winter — the heater on full blast will do it to a girl. So, when the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Water Gel, landed on my desk, I jumped at the opportunity to trial it.
This cult-favourite moisturiser has earned its stripes thanks to a lightweight gel formula that punches well above its weight in hydration.
And as hydration is non-negotiable when it comes to winter skincare, I had high hopes for this product.
So, without further ado, here is my honest review of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Water Gel.
So, what is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel?
We’re so glad you asked! The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is a lightweight moisturiser containing hyaluronic acid, amino acids and electrolytes.
Both the hyaluronic acid and electrolytes work to hydrate the skin, while amino acids are essential for skin elasticity. And, this gel delivers five times more hydration than if you were to skip moisturisers and serums all together (impressive!).
Another bonus? It also contains one per cent natural moisturising factor (NMF) complex that mimics your skin’s natural hydration levels to help lock in moisture. That means long-lasting hydration for a stronger moisture barrier.
The Verdict
So, firstly, we need to talk about the price. This gel scrapes in at $38, making it an incredibly affordable, yet super luxe addition to my beauty cupboard.
Secondly, I love how effortlessly it slips into my daily routine. For both morning and night, I cleanse, apply my serums, and seal it all in with a generous layer of the Hydro Boost Gel Cream.
For when my skin needs some extra TLC, I’ll also reach for the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Niacinamide Serum when applying my serums, as this product also contains hyaluronic acid.
Another huge tick for me is that the formulation is suitable for sensitive skin, and because the texture is so light, it doesn’t look greasy.
Ultimately, whether you’re battling a winter chill or simply want that fresh, hydrated glow all year-round, this moisturiser is a game-changer.
