The latest trend to reign supreme is gemstone eyes. Stars such as Sophia Bush and Emma Stone chose to let their eyes dominate, choosing jewel-hued eyeshadows in ruby, emerald, sapphire, amethyst and metallic onyx.
For hazel and green eyes, like Bush has, purple and pink hues are the perfect match. “Make eyes pop by sweeping a plum eyeshadow onto the eyelids and across the lower lash lines, using a small, round fluffy brush,” says makeup guru Napoleon Perdis.
For date-night inspiration, try a subtle nod to the trend by “applying just to the corners of the eye, and add lashings of black mascara,” adds Perdis.

Bush, colour-matched her Marchesa gown with fuchsia-toned eyes and lips, emulating Lily Collins’s recent Golden Globes look.
Emily Blunt
Blunt’s newly blonde locks and terracotta-and-tourmaline eyeshadow palette ensured her blue eyes stole the show.

Stone matched her Tiffany & Co jewels with her emerald-adorned eyes.
Kerry Washington
Washington vamped up her smokey-eye with hints of silver metallic applied to the inner corners of the eye, softening the dark and adding a pop of sexy shimmer.
