The 59-year-old actress was in France promoting the new documentary Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, which follows her relationship with her actress mother. But it was her French bulldog, Gary, who famously made the rounds with her when she promoted Star Wars late last year, who again stole the show.

Gary became the first-ever dog to walk the red carpet at Cannes, and he joined Fisher at a luncheon, where she talked to reporters about his burgeoning fame. Gary’s Instagram feed (@garyfisher) boasts nearly 17,000 followers, and Fisher says her pooch has “changed” as a result: “ ‘Get me this, get me that.’ ‘No, I’m not going to sleep.’ Actually, he is s***** about eating food: ‘No, I don’t want sausage. I want bacon.’”
As for Gary’s famously protruding tongue, which is always dangling from the side of his mouth, “I want to get [it] pierced,” cracked Fisher. “It’s like wandering around with Elvis. I’ve gotten so much attention with it that it seemed like the most natural, ridiculous move.”
