Everyone loves to shop luxury designer bags, but no one wants to pay full price when you can get the exact same item for a lesser figure.
Cosette is an Australian Luxury Retailer stocking high-end brands with the likes of Fendi, Givenchy and Saint Laurant gracing both it’s online and flagship stores.
The best part is that all items are discounted – with up to 75% off during their Christmas sale – knocking hundreds of dollars off the retail price.
We caught up with Cosette CEO and Managing Director Pierre Paoli to find out exactly how the markdowns work, and if shoppers get the same quality they’d be getting if they bought directly from the designer.
“By taking advantage of the season inversion between Europe and Australia, we realised we were able to purchase all of the overstock from European retailers carrying high end luxury accessories and bring them to Australia for very competitive prices,” Paoli tells Who.
“All designer brand retailers need to purchase new collection stock 4 times a year as there are 4 seasons in the high end fashion luxury industry. They need to get a good cashflow after each season to be able to restock in quantities imposed by big fashion houses.”
“This is where we come up and brands have allowed their licensee retailers to sell their overstock outside their main market (Europe and the USA) at more attractive prices through companies such as Cosette. Australia is one of the countries where they can sell their stock at cost price and sometimes less.”
Paoli adds, “Our discounts vary between 25% to 75% OFF RRP, depending on if the products are in high demand and/or very hard-to-find.”
“Cosette’s purpose is to make luxury accessible. In the physical stores by offering a welcoming and warm atmosphere where prices are visible instantly. We do not want our clients to be intimidated and judged by the way they look as they would be in some high end fashion houses. Accessibility goes by being able to offer services such as afterpay which allow our clients to pay their goods over a longer period of time as you would if you leased a luxury car.”
