For years fans were obsessed with Jennifer Aniston’s salad recipe. The Friends star, let slip in 2010 that she and co-star Courteney Cox ate the same salad every day for 10 years whilst filming the iconic sitcom, and ever since audiences have felt the need to know exactly how it was made.
We don’t blame them. Jennifer looks great. Will eating the exact same lunch as her make us look like her? Probably not, but we’re still intrigued.
Whilst the recipe for the OG salad may be long gone, Jennifer has recently given fans an insight into her daily diet, detailing the exact salad she now loves as a go-to lunch.
Speaking with Today, she revealed that her usual salad will always start with a base of butter lettuce.
“I’m not a Romaine fan,” Jen explained. ‘I love to have some mushrooms. I love sprouts. I love a little tomato. Avocado, Kalamata olives, always some cheese – never gonna give up my cheese. I’ll do sliced parmesan, pecorino … feta … or all of them!”
She also revealed that she would usually top her salad with sliced almond or sunflower seeds for crunch and either a chopped or poached egg for protein.
And for the dressing? She likes to mix it up! The actress explained during the segment that she will typically go for either oil and vinegar or a vinaigrette, but if it’s the weekend she might opt for a ranch dressing.
The latest recipe comes after the actress debunked theories about what her famous salad on the set of Friends was.
Last year, a video went viral on Tik Tok detailing the exact recipe, which included red onion, cucumber, pistachios, fresh parsley, fresh mint, and a can of chickpeas.
“That’s not true, not my salad. I don’t know where that has come from. It looks good, but it is not mine,” Jennifer told Capital FM presenter Sian Welby earlier this year.
“The one I ate on the set of Friends was like iceberg lettuce, it was a Cobb salad. I’m trying to remember [what was in it], pecorino, turkey bacon, chicken, and garbanzo beans.”
Jennifer was quick to admit to The Today Show, that her good health was due to much more than a salad, explaining that she prioritised clean eating, drinking water, sleeping well, meditating and working out to ensure she feels her best.
