“I’d eat the same size dinner as my husband every night plus my 4-year-old’s leftovers,” she says. Tired of feeling bloated with no energy, Mel decided to take on an 8-week Keto-Fit challenge, hoping to lose weight and find foods that worked better for her body.

Keto is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet that tricks the body into a fat-burning process called ketosis. Using a structured meal plan with the help of Keto-Fit products appealed to Mel to take the stress out of having to think about what to eat every day.

“My weak spots were always carb related (bread, pasta, biscuits etc). I would drink wine every night with my husband and I would NEVER take leftovers from dinner for lunch the next day, so would spend unnecessary money.”

The Keto-Fit challenge has now opened her eyes to new recipes and foods she didn’t typically eat but now loves.

THE RESULTS

In the beginning, Mel found it hard to stick to the challenge at weekends, but her fast results motivated her to stick with it.

“I’ve never understood when people would say “the weight just dropped off” – but now I do.  I lost over 3kgs in the first two weeks and people began to notice so that was a huge motivator.

I also felt really good, – not bloated, overly full and uncomfortable all the time, but I was satiated by what I was eating.  Feeling good like that, all the time is addictive!”

THE FUTURE

After years of trying different eating plans, Mel is finally happy to have found one that works for her. “I’m 100% happy with the results, I will stick to this way of eating, although I will re-introduce a wider variety of fruit back into my diet and some wholegrains (quinoa, brown rice, lentils etc). I’m lighter, leaner my skin is great, and my energy is amazing!”
