When it comes to the mystical becoming mainstream, tarot card readings on TikTok, appropriately named ‘Tarottok’, takes centre stage.
As the name suggests, Tarottok holds the same ideologies, and longing for spiritual guidance as in-person readings, with the major difference being that instead of sitting across from Psychic, you are doomscrolling on your phone.
Counterintuitive? Yes. But does it work? Well, kind of.
Linda Roberts is a spiritual healer, psychic, clairvoyant, Reiki Master and author, with over 35 years of experience in the intuitive and spiritual realm who has both given online readings and explored the world of tarot readings on TikTok herself.
Linda explains that while the online reading space can be flooded with impostors and misinterpretations from viewers, there are genuine practitioners who offer authentic insight and guidance – yep, even through a screen.
Intrigued? Let’s dive in.

Can I connect with someone’s energy through an online tarot reading?
Despite the barriers and distance that a screen creates, Linda explains that when connecting with someone, it is possible to tap into their energy or even send healing energy their way.
Dawning on her own experiences Linda shares a time where she once sent Reiki healing through a landline to a friend grieving the loss of a loved one. Her friend felt pins, needles, and warmth despite the physical distance.
Of course, this ability comes from a blend of skill, intuition, and the depth of training and experience the practitioner has developed over time.
“You don’t need to be in front of the person. If you’ve learnt properly, you can access what you need,” says Linda.
“When I am doing a session online, and it could be anywhere in the world, but I like to know where that person is from, be that a suburb or a state, just to make it feel I can sing to that healing energy.
“And that message isn’t coming from me, it’s coming from the Creator. It’s whatever message that person needs to hear at that particular time. I’m just the anchor to bring the message through.”
How do I get the most accurate online tarot reading?

Much like in-person readings, getting the most out of a tarot card session requires an openness to accept that the message is exactly what you need to hear at that moment – or, alternatively, that it might not be.
Subverting science, and at times logic, the power of tarot lies in its ability to tap into symbolism and the subconscious mind, offering insights that go beyond conventional understanding.
Of course, the interpretation ultimately rests in the hands (quite literally) of the reader and the seeker.
“Some people try and make readings fit for them. As the watcher and the client, it’s important to make sure that you don’t make somebodies reading fit you,” Linda explains.
“For example, I’m a Leo sun and a Sagittarius moon. So, if I’m scrolling and someone starts talking about a fire sign, my ears prick up, and I think, okay, I might continue to listen to this. But then, if it come up with a king fire sign, I know that’s not about me – and I keep scrolling.
“The people that are scrolling through need to have discernment about what they’re listening to, and what they resonate with.”
But wait, how can I avoid imposters?
Reflecting on the Tarot card world, Linda says that it has undeniably changed since she started over three decades ago.
“It is mainstream now,” Linda reflects.
“When I first started trying to get a spiritual teacher, I couldn’t find one anywhere, but now they’re a dime a dozen.”
While this shift has made spiritual guidance more accessible, Linda cautions that those scrolling online for answers need to be mindful and intentional in their search.
“When you’re looking for a reader, make sure that they actually have credentials and have certifications. Look at the comments or go to their website – do a little bit of research for yourself.
“There are also a lot of imposters out there. It’s important to make sure that the person that you are talking to is who they say they are.”
