Located directly opposite King’s Cross and St. Pancras Station, the 266-room, five-star hotel is housed in the historic Camden Town Annex, and features a three-story roof extension inspired by the Swiss Cottage Library.

Designed in partnership with the company’s longtime collaborator Shawn Hausman, with interior architecture by Archer Humphryes, the hotel’s unpretentious design is inspired by Camden’s history, from political and intellectual thought and punk rock bands to the mischievous underbelly of King’s Cross.

There are also a slew of social spaces, including a library lounge, and The Sounds Studio which is is intended as a platform for London’s creative community.

The wood paneled, sound proofed studio hosts, streams and records DJ sets, interviews, podcasts, and intimate live shows.

There are two restaurants, the lively Double Standard and Isla, which is informed by the property’s beautiful garden, and serves seasonal cuisine with a focus on fresh vegetables and seafood.

Peter Sanchez Iglesias’ tenth floor restaurant, opening in September, will boast stunning 360-degree views of London and be accessible via a red exterior lift.

“We could not be prouder of what The Standard team and our many collaborators have created, in a beautiful, overlooked building that was almost left for naught,” said Amar Lalvani, CEO of Standard International. “I look forward to welcoming the world in to see and, more importantly, feel what it is that makes The Standard so special.”
