“‘I think Meghan will chose an effortlessly chic gown with clean lines and minimal detail,” British bridal designer Suzanne Neville tells PEOPLE. “I think the dress will be elegant and traditional, but with a modern twist.”
Meghan has previously shared some of her favourite wedding dress designers, including Elie Saab and J. Mendel.
And when it comes to the perfect style, the future royal has said that her favourite celebrity wedding dress of all time was the chic and simple dress Carolyn Bessette wore when she tied the knot with John F. Kennedy Jr. The now-iconic dress was designed by Narciso Rodriguez and resembled a sexy slip.
But there’s a chance she could follow in her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton’s footsteps and go with a more classic look.
“I think Meghan would normally go for a more fitted gown, but as this will be a royal wedding, she may feel that a full skirt is more in-keeping,” Neville adds. “I think Meghan will finish off the look with a stunning satin trimmed cathedral length veil and a diamond tiara.”
Kate’s wedding dress designer, Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, could be in the running for the coveted job. The then 29-year-old bride was resplendent in the fitted white V-neck gown with a long-sleeved lace overlay. She wore brunette locks in cascading curls, and topped the look with an ivory silk tulle veil trimmed with hand-embroidered flowers. It was held in place by a Cartier ‘halo’ tiara, lent to Kate by the Queen.
Or Meghan could take inspiration from her Suits character, Rachel Zane, who wore a stunning fairy tale-inspired gown by Anne Barge in the season three finale.
