Abbie Chatfield’s raw admission about ADHD struggles

Abbie Chatfield has given an emotional update on the symptoms and consequences of her ADHD diagnosis on the latest episode of the itsalot podcast.

Abbie, who has been open about her diagnosis was brought to tears during the episode as she explained she was “so sick” of her ADHD.

“I rarely cry on the podcast, but this week my #ADHD brain really struggled,” she shared in the caption of the short clip on Instagram.

“The symptoms and consequences of those symptoms can range from irritating to costly to debilitating,” she continued. 

“I wanted to speak about how my self-esteem tends to get a little hit every time I forget something, lose something, am late, don’t make it to an appointment, get told to be quiet or whatever it may be. I can laugh about it mostly, but some weeks are a little too much.”

In the short clip from the podcast, Abbie opened up about how she was over ADHD “f*****g with my life,” sharing that she often feels that she isn’t “good at anything”.

Looking back at a recent incident at an airport – which saw her spend $2000 after mixing up her boarding pass, Abbie shared that the experience made her feel “silly.”

The TV personality also revealed that whilst people often dismiss these situations as Abbie being “classic Abbie” – it was more serious than that. 

“I have a f*****g brain issue that prevents me from doing that,” she explained to her listeners, before adding that her “brain struggles with it.”

Fans flooded the comments on the Instagram video with messages of support, with many sharing their own experiences with ADHD.

I’m sad that you feel this way, definitely sounds like you have that extra layer of challenge but you are doing amazingly! “ commented another.
