Just when you thought the Avengers franchise couldn’t get any bigger, the recently released trailer (which you can watch below) for the fourth all-star superhero film, Avengers: Endgame, broke all records for video views over the weekend.
The trailer was watched a record-shattering 289 million times in its first 24 hours, beating the previous record of 230 million views set by – what else? – Avengers: Infinity War in 2017. The upcoming film also broke a Twitter record, with 549,000 mentions in 24 hours, 160,000 more than the amount for the third Avengers film.
To the greatest fans in the world, thank you for being there from the beginning til the endgame and making Marvel Studios’ #AvengersEndgame the most viewed trailer in history with 289M views in 24 hours! pic.twitter.com/WqWRzENmI1

Avengers: Endgame will pick up where Avengers: Infinity War left off, with the members of the team that weren’t disintegrated at the end of the previous film still pulling themselves together after the Decimation brought about by Thanos (Josh Brolin). Avengers: Endgame will be released in Australian cinemas on April 25, 2019.

Entertainment in all its forms has been Gavin’s focus, whether that be interviewing the latest eliminated contestant from Survivor; reviewing the newest films, TV series and albums; writing opinion pieces about streaming platforms and their offerings; or talking to Australian pop stars past and present about their musical journey. As a long-time freelancer, Gavin goes where the work takes him, with one hand on the remote and the other scrolling through his phone for entertainment updates.
