It’s a tragedy that has left Australia reeling. On September 9 the body of 41-year-old mother-of-three Mara Harvey was found in the kitchen of her home in the northern Perth suburb of Bedford, Western Australia.
The body of her mother, Beverley Quinn, 73, was found nearby. Mara’s beloved children, daughter Charlotte, 3, and twins Alice and Beatrix, 2, were also found dead in other rooms of the house in Coode Street.
It was the third time this year that police in WA have been confronted by what appears to be the scene of a mass murder. Police say on this occasion, the slain family lay there or almost a week before they were discovered.
24-year-old Anthony Robert Harvey – Mara’s Husband – is alleged to have massacred his wife and children on September 3, before killing his mother-in-law on September 4, allegedly using knives and blunt instruments in the attacks. Police claim he stayed in the home for several days after the killing before contacting offers.

“There are no words to explain the emptiness and loss we’re feeling,” Mara’s only sister, Taryn, said in a statement on September 10.
“Beverley was a king hearted, caring mother and grandmother and was always there for her family. She was very much family orientated and she loved her daughter sna grandchildren, and would have done anything for them.
“Mara loved being a mum and she loved her girls. She was so proud of each of them and was doing a great job of raising them. Her girls were her world.
“This worlds is a sadder place with the loss of these five beautiful people but Heaven has gained five new angels.”
