The 10-year-old made her movie debut in the 2022 Marvel flick Thor: Love And Thunder, starring her dad and directed by fellow Marvel star Taika Waititi.

While some fans assumed Chris – who likes to keep the camera away from his kids – must have been strong-armed into letting his daughter appear in the film, the opposite was true.

“That role, [Hemsworth] was like, ‘Well, it’d be kind of nice if I can do that with her, we’ve got to tie everything up and it’s just a nice thing for us’,” Taika told news.com.au.

“And she was wonderful, and it was great.”

Chris confessed it wasn’t actually his idea to have daughter India and his twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, in the movie; the trio asked to be a part of it.

Calling the filming process a “one-off, fun, family experience”, he said he doesn’t want his kids to run off and become actors anytime soon.

“I don’t want them to now go and be child stars and actors, it was just a special sort of experience we all had, and I loved it,” he told reporters.

But with so much star power in her genes, could young India be gracing our screens one day soon? Here’s everything we know about the youngster so far.

Who is Chris Hemsworth’s daughter India?

India Rose Hemsworth was born on May 11, 2012 and is the eldest of Chris and Elsa’s three children, which also includes twin sons Sasha and Tristan, born in 2014.

The pair chose the name as an homage to India itself, which holds a special place in both Chris and Elsa’s hearts.

“My wife spent a lot of time in India and that was where the name originally came from,” he told IANS in 2019.

Chris has also spent time filming on location in India, saying at the time: “I love the place and the people.”

Why do we rarely see photos of India?

Chris and Elsa work hard to give their children as much privacy as possible in the hopes they can have a normal childhood, despite having A-list actor parents.

“I don’t want them to feel like they’re privileged in any way,” Chris told GQ magazine in 2018.

“The fact that we have money and their parents are famous, that somehow they’re special, that scares me because we grew up with no money.”

As such, the couple steer clear of paparazzi when they can – a feat that was made much easier when they relocated to Byron Bay in 2015 – and rarely post photos of their kids online.

When the couple do share a rare family snap, they often choose photos where India and her brothers’ faces are hidden.

“The exploitation is something I’m very wary of,” Chris told GQ. “We’ve been offered things like, ‘advertise such-and-such and have dinner with your family’… There’s no way.”

That said, he and Elsa do treat fans to a peek at India’s face every now and again and it’s clear she’s growing into a gorgeous little girl.

Who does India most resemble – Chris Hemsworth or Elsa Pataky?

Rare photos of India have made it clear that she resembles both of her famous parents, but who does she take after most?

A recent photo showed her cuddled up to mum Elsa on a boat, her nose pressed to Elsa’s cheek as the actress smiled at the camera.

While the snap certainly highlighted the similarities between mother and daughter – including the caramel hair and tanned complexion – India takes after her hero dad more.

Photos snapped at the 2018 Commonwealth Games showed that India had already inherited her dad’s cheeky grin and bright blue eyes framed by dark lashes.

And images Elsa shared to Instagram to mark her daughter’s 10th birthday made it even more obvious how much she resembles her Aussie dad.
