We’re totally buggin’ over the news that iconic 90’s flick Clueless is getting a very modern TV reboot!
WATCH The Clueless cast reunite after 23 years.
An hourlong Clueless TV series, based on the hit 1995 feature, is in the works at CBS TV Studios.
The project, executive produced by American Gothic and No Tomorrow series creator Corinne Brinkerhoff, will be centred around the character of Dionne, played in the film and the original Clueless TV series by Stacey Dash.
The new twist on the teen classic will be penned by Will & Grace writers Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey and is described by Deadline as: “a baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latté and Adderall-fuelled look at what happens when the high school queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong No. 2 Dionne steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans.
“How does Dionne deal with the pressures of being the new most popular girl in school, while also unravelling the mystery of what happened to her best friend, all in a setting that is uniquely 2020 L.A.?”
The original film – a loose adaptation of Jane Austin’s ‘Emma’ – was written and directed by Amy Heckerling and starred Alicia Silverstone as Cher, Dash as Dionne as well as Brittany Murphy and Paul Rudd.
