The OJ Simpson trial: Where are they now?

Faces made famous because of the 'trial of the century'.

In the years since the OJ Simpson murder trial, defence lawyers Johnnie Cochrane and Robert Kardashian (whose famous daughter Kim Kardashian is now becoming a lawyer) both died of cancer. Here’s a look at where the other players are today:

Fred Goldman: Victim’s father

Goldman, 78, successfully sued Simpson for his son’s death and was awarded $US33.5 million, though he has barely received one per cent of it. He retired in 2015 after years of working in retail.

Lance Ito: Judge

Ito, 68, who was heavily criticised for his decision to allow cameras in the courtroom during the trial, has since retired as a judge and enjoys a quiet life with his wife.

Robert Shapiro: Defence lawyer

Shapiro, 76, still practises law and launched the Brent Shapiro Foundation to help those battling addiction. (His son Brent fatally overdosed at age 24).

Marcia Clark: Head prosecutor

Clark, 65, left the LA District Attorney’s office following Simpson’s acquittal and became a full-time novelist.

Christopher Darden: Prosecutor

Darden, 62, left the District Attorney’s office after the trial ended. He’s now a criminal defence attorney and co-authored books such as LA Justice and The Last Defense.

Brian ‘Kato’ Kaelin: Witness

Simpson’s infamous houseguest used his courtroom fame to boost his acting career, appearing on reality and game shows. Now 60, he has his own clothing line Slacker wear.

Mark Fuhrman: Detective

After lying on the stand about using racial slurs, Fuhrman, 67, resigned from the LAPD in 1995 before pleading no contest to perjury charges. He works as a forensic expert.

F.Lee Bailey: Defence lawyer

Bailey, 85, was disbarred for misconduct on an unrelated case after the Simpson trial. He’s since moved to Maine, where he set up a consulting group with his girlfriend, Debbie Elliot.

Denise Brown: Victim’s sister

Denise, 61, who testified about the alleged abuse Nicole suffered, keeps her memory alive by helping domestic violence victims through the Nicole Brown foundation.
