A man is on the run from police in Queensland, after they discovered the body of a teenage girl decomposing in a barrel on the back of his ute.
The man fled from police at a property in Buccan, Logan, in the ute with the barrel loaded onto the tray, news.com.au reports, where police found it 20 minutes later.
Police had arrived at the property in relation to the disappearance of 16-year-old Larissa Beilby, who has been missing since June 18.
The man, who the Courier Mail have identified as 34-year-old Zlatko Sikorsky, is believed to now be travelling in a silver Holden Commodore with the registration 966WKB.
“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to contact police immediately,” police have said in a statement, reports the Courier Mail.
The body found in the barrel is yet to be identified and police are unsure how many people were involved in the woman’s death.
“It’s hard to say whether we’re looking at one person, or more persons,” Detective Acting Superintendent Mark White told the media, adding that the man who fled in the ute is at the centre of the investigation.
Larissa Beilby was last seen at an address on Kempster Road and was believed to be in the company of a man.
The investigation continues.
