As the Epstein Files continue to horrify the world, no one is more disgusted than Melinda French Gates – the ex-wife of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who is also a former friend of the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Although Bill was known to have a public friendship with the disgraced financier, it was not until recent files were released that the depth of their relationship was exposed.
The new files revealed emails that Epstein sent to himself, in which he suggested that the tech founder had engaged in extramarital affairs – including one that resulted in him requiring “STD antibiotics.”
The email also alleges that Gates was going to “surreptitiously give [the antibiotics] to Melinda.”
Speaking about her ex-husband’s alleged involvement for the first time on NPR’s Wild Card podcast, the mum-of-three shared her “unbelievable sadness” at the situation.
Why was Bill Gates mentioned in the Epstein files?
In one email released as part of the Epstein files dated July 18, 2013, the convicted sex offender wrote that he was “dismayed” that Gates wanted to end their friendship “in order to deal with consequences of sex with Russian girls.”

Epstein appears unhappy by this suggestion, claiming to have helped his friend when he allegedly got a sexually transmitted disease.
“TO add insult to injury you them implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis,” the email reads.
What did Bill Gates say about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein?
Speaking about his relationship with Epstein, Gates told 9News that he met him in 2011 and had “a number of dinners” with him. Epstein was first convicted by a Florida state court for procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute in 2008.
“It’s factually true that I was only at dinners. I never went to the island, I never met any women,” Gates said. “The focus was always, he knew a lot of very rich people, and he was saying he could get them to give money to global health.”

“In retrospect, that was a dead end… I was foolish to spend time with him. I was one of many people who regret ever knowing him,” he added.
He also explained: “Jeffrey wrote an email to himself, that email was never sent, the email is, you know, false. It just reminds me, you know, every minute I spent with regret and I, you know, apologise that I did that.”
What did Melinda Gates say about Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey Epstein?
Opening up on NPR’s Wild Card podcast, Melinda said: “For me, it’s personally hard whenever those details come up, it brings back memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage.”
She added that “whatever questions remain there” about Epstein’s ties to other people “are for those people, and for even my ex-husband. They need to answer to those things, not me.”
Melinda also said she hoped for justice for Epstein’s victims.
“I’m able to take my own sadness and look at those young girls and say, ‘My God, how did that happen to those girls?'” she said.
“At least for me, I’ve been able to move on in life, and I hope there’s some justice for those now-women.”
