Foxtel have announced details of their 2019 programming line-up, and included in the list of new and returning shows are three local series coming to Fox Showcase in the new year.
Lambs of God
Essie Davis, Ann Dowd and Jessica Barden star in this series about the last three nuns belonging to the enclosed order of St Agnes, who live in a run-down monastery that’s been all but forgotten by the rest of the world. The women are spurred into action when a priest (Sam Reid) tries to sell the monastery from underneath them. Lambs of God is based on the novel by Australian writer Marele Day.
Upright
An Australian-British co-production, this eight-part drama follows pianist Lucky Flynn (Tim Minchin) and teenager Meg (Milly Alcock) whose paths cross in the middle of the Australian desert. Together they travel cross-country, with Lucky’s piano in tow, in a quest to reach Lucky’s mother before she passes away.

From the creator of Dance Academy, Samantha Strauss, comes this 10-part series delves into the issue of euthanasia. Frances O’Connor plays Dr Kate Brennan, who is opposed to euthanasia, while her mother (Harriet Walter) is vocal about her own right to die on her own terms. The topical drama co-stars Noni Hazlehurst, Robyn Nevin, Alex Dimitriades and Brooke Satchwell.
