Google Australia have reviewed the country’s most searched for personalities and events and found that the Royal Wedding captivated Australians, with Meghan Markle topping the list of global figures, and ‘royal wedding’ taking the top spot for news events.
However it wasn’t all good news, as we also mourned the loss of Avicii, Anthony Bourdain, Aretha Franklin, Jessica Falkholt and Eurydice Dixon.
When it came to sports, Australians were obsessed with the 2018 World Cup held in Russia and our Commonwealth Games.

It looks like Aussies are ready to ditch carbs and sugar, with ‘keto recipes‘ topping the list of recipe searches. The top ten list doesn’t even include any desserts, a first compared to previous years. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise when you find out that questions including “How to lose weight fast” and “How to lose belly fat” were being Googled.
