Jennifer Aniston was en route to Cabo San Lucas when her private jet turned back and made an emergency landing at Ontario International Airport in California.
Jennifer Aniston safely touched down in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico after her private plane was previously forced to turn around and make an emergency landing while en route to the destination on Friday.
Aniston, 50, and fellow Friends alum Courteney Cox, 54, were seen together at the airport in Cabo San Lucas — where the actress is celebrating her Feb. 11 birthday — after the pair landed, according to photos published by the Daily Mail.
Speaking about the emergency landing, a source previously told PEOPLE that the actress was headed to Mexico when her plane circled back and landed at the Ontario International Airport in Ontario, California.
The airport was closed down so the plane could land, according to the source, who added that the actress and her friends would wait for a new plane at the airport before continuing on their trip.
The Ontario International Airport wrote in an initial tweet about the emergency landing, “ALERT: ONT and the City of Ontario Police and Fire Departments are currently on alert for an incoming aircraft. More information to follow.”
It was followed by a second tweet indicating that the Gulfstream aircraft “landed safely.”

A statement released by the airport revealed there were problems with the plane’s landing gear.
“A Gulfstream aircraft with 10 passengers and two flight crew members on board landed without incident at Ontario International Airport (ONT) after experiencing landing gear difficulty,” the statement read.
“The plane was en route Friday from Los Angeles International Airport to Cabo San Lucas when it was discovered that one of the four rear tires had displaced,” the statement continued. “The aircraft landed safely at ONT around 2 p.m. Friday.”

The news came almost a week after the Friends actress celebrated her birthday with pals, including Cox, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, George and Amal Clooney, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Ellen DeGeneres, Barbra Streisand, Keith Richards, Laura Dern, Demi Moore and Lisa Kudrow— as well as Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt.
“Basically, every single person who Jen loves attended. That included Brad,” a source told PEOPLE of the star-studded bash, which included multiple pairs of exes.
“The party was a celebration of Jen’s life.”
