They’ve long been rumoured to have an icy relationship, but it appears as though tensions between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are at boiling point after last week’s revelation that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family.

According to The Sunday People, the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge stopped communicating on their family WhatsApp group six months ago after Meghan felt isolated from the family.

Prince William has also cut ties with his brother Prince Harry, as according to a friend of the Prince who spoke to The Times William has said: “I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can’t do that anymore… I’m sad about that.”
All we can do, and all I can do, is try and support them and hope that the time comes when we’re all singing from the same page.”

Meanwhile, the Queen was said to be “deeply disappointed” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s to decision to publicly announce they are stepping down from royal duties without Her Majesty’s prior knowledge.
The couple made the announcement via their Instagram account on January 8 that they have made the decision to split their time between Britain and North America and will be stepping down from their “senior royal” roles.

A senior royal source said the Queen and her family were ‘deeply disappointed’. Another said the royals were ‘shocked, saddened and downright furious’ at the couple, reports the Daily Mail.
In a tellingly curt statement, Buckingham Palace responded to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s statement by saying: “Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work though.”
The Mail’s sources claim that the shock announcement was a personal statement and “members of the family were not consulted on the contents”.
“People had bent over backwards for them. They were given the wedding they wanted, the house they wanted, the office they wanted, the money they wanted, the staff they wanted, the tours they wanted and had the backing of their family. What more did they want?”
The Queen is currently in cleanup duty and has ordered a meeting take place on Monday between key royal family members to discuss next steps after Meghan and Harry’s bombshell exit announcement.
PEOPLE reports that Her Majesty will be joined by Harry, Prince William and Prince Charles at her country home of Sandringham, Norfolk.
The publication also claims that the Duchess of Sussex “will participate via phone if it happens within the right timeframe”.
