The Queen of Smize is back!
On Wednesday, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit dropped its latest issue and iconic supermodel Tyra Banks is one of three cover stars (the two others include soccer star Alex Morgan and reporter Camille Kostek).
Although she officially retired from modelling in 2005, Tyra, now 45, clearly couldn’t resist taking up the opportunity to pose one more time.
And she looks better than ever!
The America’s Next Top Model star first graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated in 1997, at the time she was the first woman of colour to cover the magazine by herself.
In a BTS video shared with her fans, Tyra explains how her body has changed—“My booty is bigger, everything’s a little bigger”—and that the shoot felt more difficult because of it. “But after the first shot, I was like, ‘I got this.’”
Explaining her mindset before the shoot to the New York Times, the model revealed: “I started preparing for the shoot and I thought, ‘Let me get it together and look like Tyra back in the day.’ I was thinking, ‘Oooh, I want the comments.’ But then I suddenly thought, ‘Why I am going to force that? I’m hungry and I want a pizza.’”
