Is Paul Mescal in a relationship?
Yes, Paul Mescal is in a relationship with singer/songwriter Gracie Abrams. The two are rumoured to have been an item since June 2024. However, it wasn’t until a year later they actually confirmed their relationship, with Abrams sharing a sweet snap of the two at Glastonbury festival together in 2025.
Even Harris Dickinson’s girlfriend, Rose Gray, shared a snap of the couple, with Gracie taking an affectionate bite of Paul’s face.

The Hamnet star, 29, was spotted with pop singer Abrams, 26, heading to Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11 after the 83rd annual Golden Globes.
No doubt spirits were high on the night as Paul’s movie took home the awards for Best Motion Picture (Drama) and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.
The couple were seen looking loved-up holding hands as they stepped out of a vehicle for the afterparty.

Paul Mescal was linked to singer Phoebe Bridgers since 2020.
However, the two actually ‘met’ via Twitter in 2019. While Paul posted that his #1 Spotify artist of the year was Bridgers, the latter said the following of her future beau’s turn in Normal People. “Finished normal people and now I’m sad and horny oh wait,” Phoebe tweeted. Paul replied: “I’m officially dead.” Phoebe then spotted Paul’s reply, writing back, “nooo don’t die you[‘re] so talented aha.”
Although rumoured to be an item in 2020, they didn’t officially confirmed their relationship until a year later. Their first red carpet outing was to the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November 2021.
The two later made a much-memed appearance together at the 2022 Met Gala with Paul’s Normal People co-star, Daisy Edgar-Jones.
In November 2022, a profile piece on Paul in The Guardian reported that the couple were engaged.
Whether true or not, the engagement was short lived. Paul and Phoebe split in 2022, amid rumours of an affair between the latter and comedian, Bo Burnham.
Mescal was reportedly heartbroken by the split, telling Esquire, “The only thing you’re left with after love is grief, which is, like, a bleak thing, but I think it’s just a fact.”

Since starring together as the beloved Connell and Marianne in Normal People, fans have hopes — no, prayed! — that Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones were dating. Alas, it doesn’t appear that Daisy Edgar Jones was ever Paul Mescal’s girlfriend.
“It’s odd seeing people talk about Paul and I… You’re being talked about, but you’re like, ‘I’m reading this. I can see what you’re saying.’ Stuff like that is a bit odd,” Daisy told Vulture in 2020.
Following the conclusion of Normal People, the duo have maintained their famous friendship and frequently refer to one another as each other’s ‘best mate’ on social media.
