Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher were spotted pounding the pavement in New York City late last year, shooting scenes for the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Your Place Or Mine.
So far, the story seems to involve a lot of strolling around the city. Walking across the street, in the park, on the sidewalk, with a friend. You get it, they're doing a lot of walking.
And while we'd kill to get a look at their step count from the past few days, we're much more interested in what sort of love story all this running around will lead to. Less walking, more romance!
Fortunately, we have some insight to the storyline of the sure-fire smash-hit.
As the name suggests, the Netflix rom-com will involve a house-swap of sorts. According to the official description: “two long-distance best friends change each other’s lives when she decides to pursue a lifelong dream, and he volunteers to keep an eye on her teenage son.”
It's The Holiday with a romantic twist between the two house swappers.
Who wants to take a bet that the Reese character is all shook up and 'why did I think this was a good idea?' about life after arriving in the rain, only to fall in love with NYC and the man whose apartment she's living in? Us. We would take that bet. That's a very good bet.
The film is also set to star Zoë Chao, one of our favourite new actors to pull off the 'sassy best friend' trope in shows like Love Life and movies like The High Note, and who absolutely deserves her own main character moment.
The screenplay was written by Aline Brosh McKenna, co-creator of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and The Devil Wears Prada. With Your Place or Mine, McKenna will also be making their feature directorial debut.
In a recent Instagram post, Reese celebrated her return to the world of romantic comedies saying she was "heading back" to her roots.
With a cheery addition of "let's do this" to the post, the Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama star filled our cold, dark hearts with joy once more. Let's absolutely do this, Reese.
