Camilla Franks is one of Australia’s best known and most loved fashion designers, renowned for her sunny prints and glam tropical style.
In Camilla’s world, it’s always summer somewhere – hence those wonderfully floaty beach-ready kaftans and cruise-friendly gowns she’s famous for.

The designer’s latest collection, called House of the Sun, takes its inspiration from Egypt’s mesmerising wealth of art, history, textiles and natural beauty.
A kind of travelogue in print, the collection is an ode to Egypt’s most iconic landmarks, from the bustling markets of Cairo to the timeless majesty of the Valley of the Kings.
Egypt has inspired artists and designers for centuries – and this is Camilla’s own unique take on the endlessly fascinating country, with each print capturing the essence of its rich heritage.

Rather than taking the sights and landscapes of Egypt as the backdrop for the collection campaign, however, the stunning garments were instead photographed in the vibrant streets of New York City.
The brand invited a number of its favourite muses to feature in the campaign, where prints and silhouettes inspired by an ancient land were captured in a city that has come to symbolise everything modern.
While the relaxed silhouettes and bold jewellery featured in this collection will be familiar to any long-time lover of the label, Camilla has added something new this season – a dash of denim.
House of the Sun takes in ready-to-wear, resort wear, menswear and childrenswear, so there really is something for everyone.

‘This collection caters to all, inviting everyone to join the adventure,’ Camilla states.
2024 marks 20 years since the designer first launched at Australian Fashion Week.
Since then, she has taken her fans and followers on a globe-trotting adventure around the world.
From its Australian base, Camilla now sells to retailers in more than 55 countries across the globe.

Twice a year, the designer heads overseas to glean inspiration for her collections.
Then, she returns to her homebase of Sydney to begin the design process with her in-house team.

‘Each Camilla piece is a bespoke wearable artwork, designed with a meticulous print placement that falls beautifully across each and every body,’ the Camilla website states.
Celebrity fans are numerous – Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Hudgens, Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey and Paris Hilton have all been spotted wearing Camilla’s signature boho luxe style.

Back in 2015, Camilla excitedly posted to Instagram after meeting Oprah, a huge fan of her work, for the first time.
‘A magical meeting years in the making,’ Camilla wrote. ‘I finally found my angel!’
