When it comes to Natio, many of their products are vegan but not all. Their website says; "Natio has been accredited by Choose Cruelty Free since 1996." Cruelty free and vegan aren't quite the same thing.
The FAQs on their website offer a fairly substantial rundown of the products that are animal derived and therefore aren't vegan but they recommend you check the ingredients of each product to be sure.
While that's miles ahead of some (not-to-be-metioned) high street brands who still test on animals, it's a big ask to presume your customers will check the ingredients list and know whether they're vegan or not.
What they do promise is that their makeup brushes are 100% vegan.
Natio, you can do better.
Theirs is a street vibe with an edge. And no bunnies were harmed in the process.
"From our insane range of velvety eyeshadows – including the bestselling (and often-copied) Naked Palettes – to our award-winning eye liners, budge-proof mascaras and legendary Makeup Setting Sprays, we've been shaking up the industry for over 20 years."
If you know this brand you'll know that's true. Urban Decay rocks. And the answer to the question: Vegan and cruelty free? Is yes, and yes.
Natasha from Sydney says, "This is my third time buying it and I know once I finish it I will get another. It is the most perfect gloss. The colour is amazing and it isn’t too sticky which is my favourite thing about it.
Although she has her own makeup brand called Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner is said to be a fan of Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. With 18 shades of foundation to choose from and a 100% cruelty free brand philosophy it's easy to see why.
Too Faced make the best selling mascara in the US (called Better Than Sex), but that's not all they do. They have a full range of vegan cosmetics from eyeshadow and lipstick to foundation and everything in between.
Jocelyn says, "The first time I tried [Born This Way] I absolutely was in SHOCK of how amazing it looked. I literally only needed ONE layer, and it goes on super smooth."
"I have a lot of scarring from acne and still suffer from occasional breakouts, so buildable full coverage is a must for me. I really like how light weight it feels, and the gorgeous satin finish."
One of the pioneers of certified organic and vegan products, Australian owned Inika Organics produce 100% vegan makeup.
