The success of Wednesday Season One
Speaking to Tudum, co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough said, “We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore.”
Following its release in November 2022, Wednesday's teenage take has proven to be majorly successful. Debuting with a whopping 341,230,000 hours of viewing within its first week, the series quickly became one of Netflix's most popular shows, surpassing the streaming record of Stranger Things 4.
If you've been on the internet since its launch date, you'd be familiar with the unavoidable Wednesday content making the rounds on social media. As one of the biggest fan-orchestrated creations to come out of the show, Jenna Ortega's iconic dance sequence has been replicated by thousands, often overlayed with Lady Gaga's Bloody Mary. As a result, the Born This Way track is now synonymous with the series- so much so that Gaga herself responded.

Following its major virality, we can't wait to see what's in store for Season 2. Here's what we know so far...
Who will be returning in Wednesday Season 2?
Wednesday wouldn't be Wednesday without its titular character! Jenna Ortega is a certain return for Season 2, where she will reprise her role as the beloved eldest Addams child. She will also work as an Executive Producer on the set.
Alongside the series' leading character, we can expect Wednesday's fellow family members; Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmán), Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen), Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) and, of course, Thing (Victor Dorobantu) to return.
Nevermore needs its students! Hence, we can also expect many of Wednesday's teen peers to return. Fans hope to see more of Wednesday's effervescent roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers).
While Tyler Galpin made an unexpected exit in Season 1, the doors are still ajar for actor Hunter Doohan to return to his role.
When does Wednesday Season 2 come out?
Season 2 of Wednesday has only recently been announced. Given its popularity, we can assume filming will commence sometime mid 2023 for a late 2023/early 2024 release.
What can we expect in Wednesday Season 2?
Season 1 of Wednesday ended with a bang, accompanied by several open-ended plotlines.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Seeing as the Hyde is still on the loose, danger is still on the horizon for Wednesday and her fellow Nevermore students. With the threat of a stalker also looming, the show's co-runner, Miles Millar, said to Tudum, “Not all not loose ends have been tied up neatly as she [Wednesday] thinks they have.”
Given Wednesday's Season One love interest has revealed himself a traitor, fans are also eagerly waiting to see how her future relationships pan out. While Ortega herself has expressed her lack of desire for any ongoing love interests in the series, Enid Sinclair is fans' beloved contender for Wednesday's heart (or lack of).

As we expect for the relationship between Enid and Wednesday to develop in Season Two, many fans have expressed their hopes for a potential romance to blossom.
