McCarthy was arrested and taken to Kogarah police station, where a breath analysis returned a result of 0.168 over an hour after she was first pulled over.
The flight attendant was charged with high range drink driving and her license was suspended immediately.
She was later fined $500 after pleading guilty to the offense in court.
McCarthy was disqualified from driving for a further six months and will have to drive on an interlock license for two years, meaning her car won’t start unless she blows a zero blood alcohol limit.
Addressing the arrest and subsequent court proceedings, McCarthy said through a Nine publicist: “I deeply regret my decision and take full responsibility for my actions.
“I accepted the court outcome and this has been a huge learning for me and something I will never do again.”
