It’s Aussie cinema and television’s night of nights, and each year the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTAs) gets bigger and better.
Playing host to an incredible array of local and international stars, this year marks a decade of the prestigious ceremony.
Here, WHO takes a look back at 10 years of homegrown talent …
2012
Superstar Russell Crowe attended the first AACTA International Awards in LA – and came back to host them (as well as the Aussie event) the following year.
While a number of beauties stormed the red carpet, Megan Gale’s Alex Perry dress and Asher Keddie’s J’Aton gown were stand-outs.
Meanwhile Olivia Newton-John opened the ceremony at the Sydney Opera House with songs from the soundtrack of her film, A Few Best Men.
2013
The Sapphires – starring Shari Sebbens, Deborah Mailman and Jessica Mauboy – swept the board, leaving with 11 awards.
“This is our home…This is where our story began,” one of the film’s stars Deborah Mailman said.
2014
Lara and Sam Worthington made their red-carpet debut as a couple at the event, with the former model wearing Aussie designer Ellery.
Elsewhere on the red carpet, former MasterChef star Matt Preston wore his signature cravat and Delta Goodrem stunned in burgundy Michael Costello.
2015
Cate Blanchett took home the Longford Lyell Lifetime Achievement Award, one of Australian film’s top accolades.
Plus, we loved her chic pink frock that she wore to the ceremony.
2016
Aussie actress Isla Fisher and her husband Sacha Baron Cohen were guests at the sixth annual ceremony.
Elsewhere at the 2016 event, Aussie expat Rose Byrne was a fly-in, presenting an award before heading off to perform at the Sydney Theatre Company.
2017
Erin Holland went for a show-stopping red look, while Simon Baker and wife Rebecca Rigg looked loved-up on the red carpet.
At the 2017 ceremony, Nicole Kidman and her Lion co-stars Sunny Pawar and Dev Patel won big.
2018
Aussie actress Miranda Tapsell wore the pants for the night, and former NRL star Beau Ryan scrubbed up alright.
At the ceremony, Kath and Kim stars Gina Riley and Jane Turner reunited to present an award and Nicole Kidman received the Best Supporting Actress gong for her role in Boy Erased.
2019
The Bachelorette‘s Angie Kent opted for a sculptural Zian Couture gown to present an award at last year’s ceremony.
Jessica Mauboy got the party started with an impressive performance of Selfish at the ceremony, and Sam Neill won the Longford Lyell Award.
“I’ve devoted a great deal of my life to Australia…so I’m very chuffed,” he said after receiving his gong.
