Olympic water polo player Nicola ‘Ziggy’ Zigame may have gotten the boot on Monday night’s episode of Australian Survivor, but the 26-year-old athlete gained something more valuable than a Super idol in September — an engagement ring.

Ziggy told fans on Instagram she said ‘yes’ to fellow Olympic water polo player Johnno Cotterill, who gave her a sapphire stunner during a casual proposal.

“We were just at home last weekend,” Ziggy tells WHO. “Johno often cooks dinner, so it wasn’t that out of the ordinary, but he was cooking dinner and we were at home, just the two of us, so it was really, really nice.”

Although Ziggy was pleased with her deep run in Australian Survivor, she admits she was looking forward to a proposal from her boyfriend of five and a half years. “I was very hopeful that it would be coming soon,” she says. “I’m just really happy now. I’m really excited to be married to him.”

Now that she is off of Australian Survivor on television, Ziggy is preparing for her next big adventure — a wedding. “We started looking at venues and all that now,” Ziggy says, adding that some contestants, like Adelaide deejay Aaron “AK” Knight, could be involved.

“Johno said that,” Ziggy says with a laugh. “He’s like, ‘Do you reckon AK will be our DJ?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, and Jarrad’s a good photographer, too.’ But they are two of my closest friends from the game, so I want them to enjoy the wedding as well. I don’t want them to be working!”

Even so, Ziggy says, “I’m sure if AK was there as a guest, he’d probably kick the DJ off anyway and do it himself, so we’ll have to see!”
