Beyoncé’s album Lemonade has earned her a career-best 11 nominations for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year for “Formation” and Best Female Video for “Hold Up”.
“Formation” has been nominated in six categories, and “Hold Up” is competing in two.
Beyoncé is also up for Best Collaboration, for “Freedom” with Kendrick Lamar, and Best Electronic Video.
She has also been nominated with her former group Destiny’s Child and Brandy Norwood for the 99 Souls remix of “The Girl Is Mine”.
Those vying with Beyoncé for the Video of the Year are Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and the year’s most controversial music video, Kanye West’s “Famous”, which featured naked wax figures of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, Bill Cosby, Donald Trump and Chris Brown.
The MTV Video Music Awards will be held at Madison Square Garden, New York, on Aug. 28.
